MY ADOPTED POW-MIA

When I was a teenager I had a POW bracelet.
I wore it faithfully for a few years then as luck would have it I lost it.
I went on with my life but never forgot about this name on a bracelet.
While surfing the internet I came across a link to
Operation Just Cause"
They have a program where you can adopt a
pow-mia.
I filled out the application and asked about my name on the bracelet.
All I could remember was his last name and that he was from Michigan.
Much to my astonishment I found out not only was he from Michigan
but from the town where I now reside.
When I first moved here I didnt know much of the towns history other than
it was where Frank Murphy (former Governor of Michigan)had been born and raised.
I am now in the process of trying to learn more about this Hometown Hero
who has a Softball Field named after him.
